Another little advent house...

This house is done in traditional Christmas colours and I've also added a chimney (cos Santa's going to need that!)

The drawer handles this time are made from brass split pins, which were so much quicker, easier and neater to use

I still haven't got a nice little stamp to put the numbers on the drawers tho! I think I might have been happier if I'd darkened the drawer fronts a little bit to match the red colours of the house.....

Christmas Advent House

I saw this gorgeous little advent calendar on a lovely blog called 'Floweline'. I haven't written the numbers on the tiny drawers yet as I don't have the perfect stamp but will do it as soon as I get one.
Each little drawer will be filled with tiny sweets and gifts

I have used beads and pins to make the drawer handles and have hung a metal angel embellishment under the eaves, and tiny silver hearts hand on each corner. I'll soon be making another one in more striking Christmas colours and have already bought my 24 boxes of matches!

This is my lovely little cup cake. I've been seeing these all over the place and really wanted to try it. It didn't go exactly to plan and turned out differently than I wanted, but the more I look at it, the more I love it.

Inside I've put a tag that slides in and out, so that a greeting can be written on it.

It's frothy and pink and delicious. . .
This envelope card is decorated using papers from my Blueberry Hill pad. I wanted to do something very pink because I've lapsed into browns and golds a bit too much lately.I still have a lot of little treasures to hide inside to personalise it before I give it away

This is a project we actually did some weeks ago and at the time I didn't think it worth putting on because the photograph really doesn't do it justice, but it's such a lovely idea.
Above each strip of ribbon is a little pocket made to hold coupons. I'd rather put pretty tags and maybe photographs and special messages inside and give it as a gift than put it in my handbag, only for it to re-surface at a later date as a piece of scrap paper!

The front is decorated with a heart, bow and flowers.

I've made and displayed one of these before, but the colours and patterns on this scrumptious little button box are my favourites.
The box is held closed by a piece of rustic string wound in a figure 8 around the two large central buttons. Inside I've put a bundle of peach notepaper tied with a frothy brown organza bow

Two lovely little star hangers, small enough to fit on my Christmas tree.
I spiralled part of the wire to add interest, and threaded a tiny jingle bell onto one side before attaching it to the star.
I added a bit of glitter to the edges of the star using a glitter pen.

I definitely prefer the ones with words, so I may have to fiddle with these a little bit later and add to them

This challenge was set by my sister Tamara Jayne. She gave us all a 3" cardboard jester's shoe and told us to decorate it. I did mine on a Christmas theme, one side green and gold and the reverse just gold. I intend to hang it on my Christmas tree this year.
This is the one my daughter made. I think the string decoration is a great touch

During one of our craft days Mum, Tuft and Me set a challenge, each providing the others with a few items that all of us had to use, along with our own stuff
*****
The main item was a little money envelope (about 3") which the others decorated gorgeously, but I decided to fold mine like a little wallet so that it opened like a tiny book and then decorated all the pages, front and back and added an extra tag in the open flap for the message

The message I wrote was an anniversary one to my sister and her husband, because she said she loved it very very much and wanted to copy it!! Fantastic! cos I almost always copy her :)
***
I was asked by a friend to make a very special and personalised card for her to give as a birthday card.
I made my favourite envelopey one, and inside I have put a tag with her age on, and a little silver cross, her name, her picture and a blank tag for a message

Since taking the pictures, I've added a tiny opening fan personalised with the two girls' names and the word 'friend'.

And a lovely little 'happy birthday' in delicate gold lettering on the front

This is not really my colour, but I made this card for one of the children I look after who has grown up and won't be coming anymore. Inside the little gift box (previously blogged I think) I have put some beautiful turquoise earrings, bracelet and necklace that my daughter made for her as a leaving present

This picture frame was a challenge set by my sister, and one that I didn't really think through properly before I started, and so ended up looking exactly like most of my things do. I'm told it called `having a style` but sometimes I bore myself silly! The little doors on the card do actually close, which is nice, but pointless if there's a picture inside :)
