kortskissen

This is my inerpretation of the template posted this week on kortskissen. I'm not a member of it or anything but just decided to have a go anyway xx

This is something I haven't made before but now I have, I think I'll be making a lot more.

Because it's a bookmark the main body needs to be very flat so too many embellishments are a no no.

To get around this (because I love to embellish) on my second one I added a tag and a butterfly to the tails of the ribbons.

These will be my project for our next craft day.

The back has my inital on it, so it looks like I'll have to keep this one :) xx

Here are the envelopes I made to match the cards just below. I haven't made one for the blue one but I'm quite pleased with these.
Not a good idea to send them through the post though I don't imagine. Best delivered by hand xx

I'd really love to make envelopes to match my cards but can't bear to use so much of my pretty papers. I'm about to try some sneaky little methods of decorating some ready made ones using only little tiny bits of left over paper and embellishments... might show you later if they look pretty enough x
* * * * *

This pink card is a hotch potch of everything - perfect for a princess..... xx

.....and the blue one for your prince charming...

...and then two become one - us. xx

Friday 28 August 2009

Today I had a crafty day with my Mum, daughter and friend. I wanted to make some tiny hanging nonsenses, because my sister had, and I always copy what she makes.I also wanted to make another fan card, and so I did!
Then I decided to photgraph some of the things about my house that I love - many things I've made that clutter up my shelves and dresser and make it pretty.
If I could work faster, I'd be pretty good at this crafting lark!

This is the shelf in my dining room.
Anyone who knows bibbis will recognise many of the card designs.

This little heart just hangs.....that's all it does.
Oh! and it looks pretty too xx

This is my dresser, cluttered with treasures and handmade bits and bobs, and at the top, there is a little row of pink spotted hearts that I made from salt dough, and loved so much that I made some yellow ones for my hallway too.

These are the tiny little nonsense hangy things that I made because my sister had.
(one day when she played crafts without me)

These little pieces of treasure measure just over 2cm by 5cm.

And this one has a kiss and the key to my heart on it. (There are a lot of keys to my heart you'll find)

Today I made fan cards with Mother and Debbie.

The papers are from Papermania Blueberry Hill, decorated with embroidery peel offs (which I love love love!)
xx

Another of my favourite envelopey cardy things (yawn) but I love them

Inside needs to be filled to bursting with prettiness! Any ideas?

And a miniature one just because I can (measures 3" across)

My Heart

Etui Boxes

This box is unfinished, but I wanted to show it because I think it's so special. When it's finished, I'm hoping it'll be crammed to bursting..

...with tags, and verses, and tiny pictures, and ribbons and bows...

...and anything else I can fit in. It holds such promise
I'll update the blog with it's progress as I fill it

Tags, tags and more tags...

These tags are made from postcards, and each one is a gift for a friend to be placed on the dining table when I have my next girly dinner party. My friends will take them home at the end of the evening as a token of friendship, and each one will have their name printed on the little blank tag - a gift and place marker in one xx

Now I'm a little bit getting the hang of this, I've been round my house taking pictures of some of the things I've made so that I can put them ALL on here xx
That said, this is one my daughter made, that I think is just lovely xx like her.

Just a little card I still have

So pretty - concertina envelope

This is yet another envelope fold card but I love this one because it has concertina inserts at the sides, so I can tuck many many precious little things inside.

I think
my daughter
will get this
one for her
21st birthday x

One for the boys...

I made this special card for my son's birthday. I don't find it easy to make for the men!

I made this like an envelope and decorated it all over, front back and inside with archeological knick knacks.

Any theme would do.

My daughter's birthday card, not so girly, laced with leather on suede paper.

I never actually finished it, I had so much more planned for inside :(

The Princess in the Tower

The Princess in the Tower
This picture frame was a challenge set by my sister, and one that I didn't really think through properly before I started, and so ended up looking exactly like most of my things do. I'm told it called `having a style` but sometimes I bore myself silly! The little doors on the card do actually close, which is nice, but pointless if there's a picture inside :)

This tiny matchbox ...

...holds the key...

Although intended to share,

I can rarely part with my ATC,s xx

...this tiny oval box measures just over an inch long.

...and this little heart shaped box is just the right size to hold 3 or 4 delicious chocolate truffles for a special someone ..x
